Computer Network Services Firm Releases Findings
on 2006 Information Technology Purchases
Indy-Based Crossroads Business Solutions, LLC
Releases Market Research Data on IT Purchases by
Central Indiana Small Businesses
Indianapolis, IN (February 28 2006) - Crossroads Business Solutions, LLC, a
provider of information technology solutions to Indiana businesses, recently
released market research data on information technology (IT) purchases made by Central Indiana Small Businesses
so far in 2006, based on a market research effort completed by
Anderson University SIFE.
Anderson University SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise)
performed a qualitative and quantitative industry market
research program and analysis for local information technology
start-up. "We were happy to be able to deliver a quantitative
and qualitative market research study to Crossroads Business
Solutions, LLC," said Amanda Norvell, the Anderson University
SIFE team manager. "Its our goal to help Crossroads apply
their limited resources into markets that are most likely to
yield them a solid return on their investment. This data
will clearly help them in that endeavor."
The survey effort gathered responses from 43 central
Indiana businesses, each with less than 100 employees. The
research showed that 79.5% of the companies surveyed
identified information technology systems as being strategic
and essential to their business. These same companies stated
that 70 percent of them outsource their IT needs and do not
have in-house technology expertise.
"This is imperative information for us," said Scott
Cunningham, founder and co-owner of Crossroads. "This
confirms that small business understands the critical nature
of IT to their business, and that these businesses look
outside of their business to hire experts to assist them
with technology, which bodes well for our fast growing IT
services business," added Cunningham.
Also uncovered in the survey was that 53 percent of
companies have IT projects planned for 2006. Not only are
the small businesses investing in technology, they are
looking into new technologies, as 23 percent of companies
are researching Voice over Internet Protocol, a newer
telephone technology that is working its way into the
smaller business markets as reliable and affordable
broadband becomes widely available.
