May 15, 2006, Noblesville -- "Crossroads Business
Solutions has a lot to celebrate," began a recent
article published in The Noblesville Ledger. The
article, in The Ledger's May 2nd edition, recognized the company's rapid growth, from two to nine employees within two years,
as well as acknowledged Crossroad's recent nomination for the 2006 TechPoint Mira Award,
which recognizes companies
that have contributed to technology growth in Indiana.
"We're proud of being nominated,"
said Scott Cunningham, founder of Crossroads
Business Solutions, when interviewed for the article. "It means we've been pulled out
as a shining star."
The article goes on to describe how Mr. Cunningham,
who worked for an IT advisory and consulting firm on
the East Coast for eight years prior to starting the
company, combined his information
technology experience with the business savvy of
co-founder Rob Green, who worked as an IT consultant
for corporations for 10 years and was a former chief
financial officer for a southern Indiana hospital, to form Crossroads Business Solutions
in 2004.
"We serve the legal industry,
lawyers, insurance, brokers as well as manufacturing
companies and even seed companies," said Cunningham.
When asked by Ledger staff
writer Christina McGairk about how Crossroads Business
Solutions has grown in the past two years,
Cunningham stated "Mostly, it's been a lot of word of
mouth. Happy clients talking to other people and
other professionals we work with in IT have referred
quite a bit of business because of our quality of
work."
When asked about why a company should consider outsourcing
their information
technology management, and how it can save small- to
mid-sized companies money, Mr. Cunningham replied, "The Gartner Group, a leading
information technology research firm, recently
reported that a professionally well-managed network
can cost 40 percent less to operate than unmanaged
networks. By managing something you have control of
you can understand what's there so you're not
reacting or firefighting."
He went on to state, "Chasing down problems just
isn't good business. The way it works with
technology is, when you're outsourcing, you get a
group with years of experience. You're not relying
on just one person for many different areas."
Ms McGairk went on to ask about the partnership between
Crossroads Business Solutions and Anderson
University. "We created a partnership with
Anderson University's Students in Free Enterprise,
which were five undergraduates who did some market
research and customer satisfaction surveys," said
Mr. Cunningham. "They
helped us identify where we should invest our money
and how we can better our business. They did a great
job, were very helpful and helped us with our
business."
